TREAT YOURSELF DAILY

Because I deserve It !

TREAT YOURSELF

Why is self care so important in our very busy lives? Elementary! We feel better after!  We can think with more clarity and communicate better with coworkers, friends and family. It gives us improved patience and awareness. However, it is most important because you deserve it after all those early mornings, long commutes, busy carpools, sleepless nights, etc. This is about self care and your need for unwinding.  We want you to be mentally and physically rewarded right down to the core of your spirit. Your time is now, because when you get home, it ain’t happening.

ADD SOMETHING EXTRA

While exploring the Chilcotin terrain we would be happy to greet you!  Group our offerings and activities together in combination with a meal to spend some time unwinding your Crooked Tail and enjoying our version of adventure, well being and fun! Check out our activities link regularly to find ALL the treats you can experience for a day with us.

POWER AND BALANCE

NORDIC WALKING

Widespread in Europe and becoming popular in Canada since the mid nineties, Nordic walking low-impact and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities!

There are numerous clinical studies show the vast benefits of pole walking.  Walking with poles contributes to better posture, better cardiovascular health and quicker weight loss.  The health benefits of pole walking are so convincing that hospitals and medical associations are actively encouraging its integration into health and wellness practice.

Never worked with the poles? Before departure we provide guests safety and functional instructions prior to walking in the Chilcotin terrain. This is so that you are safe and also so you receive the optimal effect of the poles.

According to Inspire Health, some of the benefits of Nordic walking include:

  1. Improved posture

, balance and co-ordination which is beneficial and safe for those with peripheral neuropathy in the feet.

  2. Activates your core muscles and improves core and trunk strength

  3. Improves lymph system function

and reduces incidence of lymphedema onset

  4. Increases your upper limb range of motion and muscle endurance

  5. Provides a full body workout

involving 90% of all muscles in the body

  6. Increases upper body muscle usage by 95%

     compared to walking without poles

  7. Increases your heart rate and caloric expenditure

without making you feel that you are working much harder. The perceived exertion is similar to that of normal walking, but you burn 30%-40% more calories

  8. Maintains whole-body bone density

which is extremely important to reduce your risk of osteoporosis

  9. Reduces joint stress, especially in the knees, feet and hips

    – important for anyone with arthritis, painful hips or knees, and other conditions where pain has prevented them from walking in the past

Forest Submersion

What is a Forest Submersion ?

There is great power of heightening our awareness through still reflection. We encourage travellers on Hwy 20 to take the time to stop in to experience something incredible and unique. Join us for a half or full day of guided observation in the wilderness. You may even want to try this amazing experience at night under the stars.  Notice tiny wildflowers otherwise missed, follow ants and other overlooked creatures big and small, smell the sent of sun on the grass and to hear the wind as it makes music through the reeds. Stand and feel your pulse slow as your breath deepens and ground to the power of the magnetic earth.  On a forest submersion we teach reconnection to the Earth when it speaks, we open up our mind, body and all of our senses to the scent, sound, scenery and stillness to quiet the ever racing mind and to remember our natural self.

The Chilcotin is full of life, from the glacier plateau and pine forrest’s, to the untouched aquatics teaming with minerals, flora, and fauna. Nature abounds.  These submersions are slow and mediative in pace.  They are perfect for a person or small group that needs quiet and reflection time to just commune with Gaia. This reconnection to nature teaches us to listen and learn without interruption from the technological world. It has everything we need to be at ease.  By opening our senses in nature we heighten our awareness and our intuition.

Taking home little pieces of what you discovered while submersed in the forest may change or even heal you more than you might imagine. We know you will be forever changed after an experience like this.
